Archikids: Mushrooms and Clay as Building Materials
Mushrooms and Clay as Building Materials
Workshop for all ages (6-99)
by Flavia Matei (BASE.habitat)
Have you ever wondered what mushrooms are capable of? In this workshop, we’ll explore the fascinating world of mushrooms. We’ll explore how their mycelium can be used to create eco-friendly materials—such as insulation or leather—that can even be composted later. Flavia Matei from BASEhabitat will lead the workshop; she has long been researching recyclable building materials. Since mushrooms must be handled with great care, we’ll primarily work with clay during the hands-on portion of the workshop.
